Position Overview

StepStone is seeking an individual with strong attention to detail to join the Business Development team. This role involves supporting current client managers and business development professionals in managing their outreach, primarily focusing on Germany and Austria. The Analyst will be based in Frankfurt, Germany.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Using Salesforce proactively to help build lists of prospects, event management and day-to-day updates.
  • Collaborate daily with the sales team to create momentum and identify opportunities.
  • Liaise between the asset class and sales teams.
  • Help construct customised presentations for separately managed account / bespoke opportunities.
  • Coordinate dedicated DACH client events in conjunction with the Events team, including logistical support around AV, presentations, venue selection, as well as invite lists.
  • Responding by e-mail and/or phone to information requests
  • Joining meetings with clients and potential where applicable.
  • Working on existing client data requests
  • Helping to build prospective roadshows and fundraising campaigns.
  • Generating reports for internal use
  • Upload and maintain research data within Salesforce
  • Able to travel to different StepStone offices and event locations in time.


Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree
  • Related client service experience in financial services, alternative fund or corporate administration or similar field experience required
  • Fluency in German and English is a requirement
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly motivated individual with demonstrated initiative, independence and adaptability
  • Strong Excel skills and familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience using and managing Salesforce, Microsoft CRM and Microsoft Sharepoint or an equivalent database
  • Meticulous attention to detail; strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and manage time in a detail-oriented environment
  • Enthusiastic about private markets.
  • Able to communicate with confidence to a wide range of audiences, including senior team members.
  • Willing to learn quickly and enthusiastic about growing StepStone’s client base across asset classes.
  • Interest or experience in the DACH market, especially with Institutional Investors, is desirable.
