Job Purpose/Role

To support our fast-growing Private Markets business on the investment and asset management side, we are seeking a tax specialist with deep expertise in and passion for tax M&A and international tax matters. Next to our other investment strategies, we are investing in Direct Infrastructure and Renewables assets, managing a large, Europe-focused portfolio for a range of investors. Alongside our dedicated investment tax colleagues, your core responsibility will be the tax coverage of our Direct / Renewables Transactions and Asset Management topics of the existing portfolio.

You will join our experienced Private Markets Tax Team, which covers the whole range of the Private Markets alternative assets from an investment and compliance tax perspective. Mainly on our Luxembourg fund platform, we also set up comingled / single investor fund structures that invest in our assets. We offer an international and highly dynamic environment with many great learning opportunities within this exciting investment area as well as all the other areas we cover. The position can be based in Munich or Frankfurt.

What you will do

• Serve as subject matter expert on all tax related matters of investments and divestments including tax due diligence, structuring and documentation in close exchange with the our Legal and Investment Teams
• Analyze the tax impacts for the financial modelling of the investments
• Support the preparation of investment or divestment proposals for approval by the relevant investment committees and align with the Allianz Group tax function and other relevant stakeholders
• Coordinate domestic and foreign external tax advisors
• Cover the tax relevant asset management topics of our Direct Infrastructure and Renewables portfolio including, i.a., restructuring, refinancings, recapitalizations, withholding tax processes, CFC tax analysis, tax risk management, tax audits etc.
• Provide advice on specific portfolio-wide tax projects
• Align tax topics of our investments with our Private Markets Tax Compliance Team
• Monitor local/international tax law changes relevant for our investments
• Support in tax matters of our funds investing in Direct Infrastructure and Renewables targets

What you bring

• Qualified tax advisor and/or lawyer with a degree above average
• At least 5 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in M&A and international taxation; considerably more experience for the Senior Manager role
• Demonstrated strong analytical skills with the ability to work cross-functional, deal with internal and external stakeholders and to prioritize tasks
• High level of initiative, commitment, comprehension, and team orientation
• Very good command of English and German
