Our Team:

The MSAT Recombinant DS Microbial Platform manages technology transfer, process development and troubleshooting while implementing new technologies to enhance efficiency and quality. Your job, as Process Specialist Upstream Processing, will be to develop, optimize, scale-up, transfer and validate USP processes for manufacture of life-saving medicines in the SFB&O DS launch facilities.

Main responsibilities:

• Manage and contribute to the technology transfer and validation activities of mammalian projects, including preparation of technology transfer, process validation and regulatory submission documents.

• Closely collaborate with experts from SFB&O CAPI operations and new product implementation to enable fast timelines for tech transfer and process validation including PPQ activities.

• Design and execute experimental plans to troubleshoot and enhance existing cultivation processes.

• Collaborate closely with upstream and downstream process development teams to ensure seamless integration of cultivation processes into the overall production workflow.

• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in fermentation technology and implement new methodologies as appropriate.

About you

• Experience:

• Ph.D. or M.Sc. in Biochemical Engineering, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or a related field.

• Extensive hands-on experience with mammalian cultivation processes.

• Strong knowledge of recombinant protein production and purification techniques.

• Proven track record in process development and optimization for biopharmaceutical products.

• Experience with scale-up, tech transfer, and at-scale manufacturing processes for recombinant proteins.

• Soft and technical skills:

• Excellent project management and leadership skills.

• Preferably qualification as GMO responsible person according to §28 GenTSV.

• Languages:

• Oral and written proficiency in both German and English.
