Chief Information Officer (CIO)
Based in our Hamm Office
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), the Chief Information Officer (CIO) will be responsible for overseeing the IT strategy, operations, and infrastructure of Arendt.
The CIO will ensure the alignment of technology initiatives with the firm’s business goals, enhance operational efficiency and stability, and drive digital transformation.
This role requires a visionary leader with a strong background in IT management, strategic planning, people agenda and a good understanding of the legal industry. It will be part of the Executive Committee of Arendt Digital Services, Arendt’s wholly owned subsidiary dedicated to provision of IT Services to the group.
Your role:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the IT strategy in alignment with the firm’s business objectives. Provide visionary leadership to drive digital transformation and innovation.
- IT Operations Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the IT department, ensuring the reliability, security, and efficiency of IT systems and infrastructure.
- Technology Innovation: Identify and evaluate emerging technologies to enhance the firm’s competitive edge. Lead initiatives to integrate cutting-edge technologies including generalisation of Artificial Intelligence, into the firm’s operations.
- Cybersecurity & Controls: Ensure the protection of the firm’s data and IT assets through partnership with Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). Develop and enforce IT security policies, procedures and controls.
- Budget Management: Manage the IT budget, ensuring cost-effective allocation of resources. Monitor and control IT expenditures to achieve financial objectives.
- Vendor Management: Establish and maintain relationships with IT vendors and service providers. Negotiate contracts and manage vendor performance to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the IT team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Provide guidance and support for professional development, and act as a trusted leader.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards, including financial regulatory requirements, DORA, GDPR and other data protection laws. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with senior management including Arendt partners and other stakeholders to understand business needs and provide IT solutions that support the firm’s goals. Communicate IT strategies and initiatives effectively to all levels of the organisation.
Your profile:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM) is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 to 15 years of experience in IT management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. Experience in the legal industry is highly desirable.

- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and regulatory compliance
- Perfect command of English and French, both spoken and written.
