Position Summary:
The European Logistics Manger for Leica Biosystems is responsible for the on-time damage free deliveries for Leica Biosystems product to customers throughout Europe.
This position is part of the Global Logistics Organization located in Taunusstein Germany and will be onsite. At Leica Biosystems, our vision is to advance cancer diagnostics and improve lives.
You will be a part of the Global Logistics Organization and report to the Sr. Director of Global Logistics responsible for receiving, distribution, transportation of Leica Biosystems goods throughout Europe. You will be a part of the Global Logistics Organization and report to the Sr. Director of Global Logistics responsible for receiving, distribution, transportation of Leica Biosystems goods throughout Europe. In this role, you will have the importunity to:
- Manage the 3PL operating the EU Distribution Center, ensuring timely delivery and accurate product handling; ensure products are delivered on time and handled correctly.
- Track and improve the performance of carriers across Europe to ensure reliable and cost-effective transportation.
- Develop the EU distribution strategy in collaboration with Commercial and global transportation team; establish consistent shipping and handling policies across Europe that comply with regulations and best practices.
- Implement programs to continuously reduce costs and improve service quality.
- Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.5+ years of experience in managing logistics operations within the EU
- Experience in managing European carriers including parcel, LTL and specialized high value instrument carriers
- Demonstrated knowledge of EU dangerous goods transportation; In-depth understanding of regulations and best practices for transporting hazardous materials within the EU.
- Excellent analytical skills: ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions to optimize logistics operations.
- Proficient in both English and German, with strong communication skills in both languages.
- Ability to travel – 20% travel primarily EU, and limited US
- Trade operations
