Scope Of The Role
We are seeking an experienced Quality Lead for the CDI BU for the overall QAQC responsibility for the MEP & CSA scope on all CDI projects. The candidate with the proven leadership skills to manage the project quality teams and strong leadership skills with the ability to build a long-term partnership with both the internal and external stakeholders. The successful candidate reporting into the Business Unit Lead Operations Manager, responsible for the final development, sign off, implementation, upkeep and distribution of the Quality Plans.
You will have hands-on experience identifying and addressing quality risks in procedures and controls, evaluating and assessing their effectiveness. You will have a passion for people management and demonstrated ability to build and develop leaders on your team.
As the BU Quality Lead you are required to lead the delivery of a zero defect/zero rework project. The organisation as a whole will need your leadership in showing what needs to be done in order to deliver this high standard. They will also need guidance and support to deliver the same.
You will need to ensure that all project personnel have been trained to the appropriate level in delivering an exceptionally high-quality project. Our quality goal is “Zero snags at the time where the Installation team announces that a system or part of a system in complete”.
You are required to manage and deliver your department goals in a forward looking and controlled manner.
You are required to drive and lead the Mercury Quality cycle, drive the ITP’s on projects and ensure projects are adhering to them.
Key Responsibilities Of The Role
- Management, implementation and maintenance of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System and ISO 14001
- Develop quality plans, manuals, documents and systems
- Review specifications to identify all inspections & test requirements and develop Project inspection and test plans
- Training all Project personnel in Contractor’s Project QA/QC plan.
- Work with our Client to ensure that their Quality standards & procedures are successfully submitted, approved & implemented against agreed timelines
- Completion of Audits
- Advise Management on QA issues
- Ensure all dilapidations are completed prior to works starting.
- Ensure that all documentation and certification is complete and checked prior to final handover
- Attend and co-ordinate weekly meetings with the client, subcontractors & suppliers
- Documents Control - Reviewing and revising documentation to incorporate changes to company policies and objectives, in order to stay in line with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
- Reporting and ensuring that the current QA/QC procedures used on projects are standardised and integrated into the Company QA/QC Manual.
- Review of all applicable vendor/subcontractor documentation.
- Carrying out off-site factory / prefabrication audits (source inspection) as required by Contractor’s Project QA/QC plan and the Contract Documents.
- Utilise SAP, Eida, Procore, BIM 360 Field and other software management systems to carry out duties
- When necessary perform Root cause analysis (RCA) on significant Project events or issues. Share all RCAs with all appropriate Project personnel
- All other duties associated with this role
- Actively support each project Lead/Engineer/Package Managers to ensure that they are onboarded on time and comprehensively. It is the responsibility of the Business Unit Head of QAQC to ensure that the following is set in place for each project within the Business Unit. These deliverables shall require coordination and support from other BU functions to develop.
- Work with the Project lead and Cx Leads to Coordinate and set up the Commissioning Digital Environment [CxDE] on BIM360 Next Gen.
- Ensure that the project Leads have R&R set out clearly for all QA [Mech, Elect, BAS/EPMS on the project including the deliverables.
- Work with the project Leads to ensure that all Commissioning personnel have appropriate access provided to the CxDE, BIM360 and any other relevant client platforms to access the project works information [design, construction, quality, safety etc.]
- Chair and minute a Kick Off Meeting with each project team to review the Group QAQC RACI Matrix and lessons learned. MOM’s to be saved to the [BIM360].
- Align on the R&R within the Group QAQC RACI Matrix with the client and client consultant.

- A relevant Third Level or Professional Qualification
- Ability to work well under pressure and within strict deadlines
- Excellent communication skills
- Good organisational and planning skills
- Excellent work and personal ethics that include trustworthiness, commitment, and empathy
- Confident, creative, and energetic approach to addressing all quality-related issues
- Ability to produce quality written reports
- Proficient in the use of MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint
