Job Description
This position is within the Global Group Purchasing Indirect Materials team at Continental Automotive. The chosen candidate will be responsible for the development and implementation of the Global, Regional and Local Category Strategies for Global Category Group 4 – Energy and GLC (Gases, lubricants, chemicals) for assigned divisions and affiliated companies. The global, regional and local approach creates an added value for all Business Units in terms of commercial, logistical and even technical enhancements, i.e. sustainable total cost reduction, support quality initiatives for internal customers, prolongation of payment terms, warranty and liability optimization, ensuring the availability of materials and services, data transparency and process improvements as well as strengthening of relationship to strategic Business Partners (internally and externally).

Job Description
This position is within the Global Group Purchasing Indirect Materials team at Continental Automotive. The Category Purchaser Energy and GLC (m/f/diverse) is responsible for:
- Determination of procurement strategies in coordination with the responsible Category Manager (Category Strategy Paper) including sustainability aspects to improve market transparency in order to ensure long-term and cost-effective supply for the region
- Finding new sources of supply and optimizing the existing supplier structure to cover the requirements of the specialist departments as far as possible
- Operational and strategic procurement of specific material groups (CPMGs) for different locations / business units within the automotive sector
- Identification, initiation, support and tendering of projects in coordination with internal customers/specialist departments
- Evaluation of bids, preparation of bid comparisons, cost and price analysis, independent execution of award negotiations and preparation of award decisions as well as the preparation of contract documents
- Preparation and documentation of the sourcing decision to ensure the necessary transparency and documentation of the award decision with regard to compliance guidelines and risks for the business process
- Presentation/implementation of alternative sources of supply and ensuring synergies by bundling volumes
- Determination of a strategic supplier pool in coordination with the responsible category manager, to ensure an optimal supply chain
- Supplier evaluation as a measure to optimize and monitor the defined supplier pool
- Work with Business Partners on the sourcing of products and services based on defined spend limits and corporate policies. Identify, initiate, accompany and tender Projects in cooperation with Category Managers and Business Partners (i.e. Energy Management, Engineering, Operations, EHS, Facility Management, Controlling)
- Ensure fulfillment of all necessary requirements by negotiating and concluding legally binding contracts (e.g. frame-, project related contracts) with the respective suppliers and process & audit-compliant documentation
- Support issues with Accounting, Controlling and Operations Center
- Ensure Compliance with Business Partner Code of Conduct, Continental Ethics and Values and all Corporate Guidelines
The ideal candidate (m/f/diverse) will possess the following qualifications:
- Academic degree in economic, engineering or equivalent qualification, or long professional experience
- Several experiences in procurement and strategic sourcing of large companies with international background
- Project Management Skills, working in international projects, experience in purchasing processes
- Fluent language skills in German and English (written and spoken), further languages skills are beneficial
- Good analytical skills & ability to simplify a complex problem
- Affinity for working with people and intercultural competence
- Ability to work under pressure, creativity, reliability, teamwork
- Willingness for extended travel
