Mechanical Construction Manager

Location: Frankfurt, Hesse, Germany

Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee mechanical construction activities across multiple data centre sites in Norway.
• Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, and suppliers to ensure project milestones are achieved.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements.
• Monitor project budgets and schedules, and provide regular updates to senior stakeholders.
• Conduct site inspections and quality checks of mechanical installations.
• Resolve mechanical construction issues and escalate when necessary.
• Support procurement planning and logistics for mechanical materials and equipment.
• Ensure accurate documentation and reporting for all construction activities.
• Represent the organisation professionally with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with applicable privacy, information security, and data protection requirements.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Professional certifications (e.g. PMP, RICS, CIOB) are advantageous.
• Minimum 7 years’ experience in construction management, preferably within data centres or critical infrastructure projects.
• Experience managing subcontractors, permits, risk management, resource allocation, and on-site logistics.
• Experience developing and implementing detailed construction plans for mechanical systems, including HVAC, chillers, cooling systems, piping, ductwork, and plant rooms.
• Experience overseeing day-to-day mechanical installations and ensuring compliance with specifications, quality standards, and relevant mechanical regulations and standards.
• Strong knowledge of data centre cooling strategies, HVAC systems, chilled water systems, heat rejection systems, and mechanical compliance requirements.
• Proven experience in commissioning and testing mechanical systems, including HVAC and cooling infrastructure.
• Strong leadership and project management skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Proficient in construction and project management software/tools.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, including across international locations.
