We are currently seeking an experienced Cloud Network Engineer to join a major banking organisation as it continues to modernise and expand its cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure environments.

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in the design, implementation and optimisation of secure, highly available cloud networking solutions supporting critical financial systems and digital banking platforms. You will work alongside cloud architects, infrastructure engineers and cybersecurity specialists on large-scale transformation programmes that are shaping the future of the organisation’s technology landscape.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain cloud networking solutions across AWS and Azure environments
• Manage hybrid connectivity between on-premise and cloud infrastructures
• Configure and optimise VPNs, Transit Gateways, Virtual WANs, ExpressRoute and Direct Connect solutions
• Implement network segmentation, routing and security best practices
• Support cloud migration and transformation projects
• Collaborate closely with Cloud, Security and Infrastructure teams
• Troubleshoot complex networking and connectivity issues
• Contribute to automation initiatives using Infrastructure as Code
• Ensure compliance with banking security and regulatory requirements
• Maintain technical documentation and operational standards

Requirements

• Several years of experience as a Cloud Network Engineer, Network Engineer or Cloud Infrastructure Engineer
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS and/or Microsoft Azure networking
• Deep understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, DNS and enterprise networking principles
• Experience with:
• AWS VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect
• Azure Virtual Networks, Virtual WAN, ExpressRoute
• VPN technologies and hybrid cloud connectivity
• Network security and segmentation
• Experience supporting enterprise-scale cloud environments
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills

Desirable Skills

• Multi-cloud networking experience
• Network automation using Python, Ansible or Terraform
• Cloud security and Zero Trust concepts
• SD-WAN technologies
• Kubernetes networking
• AWS or Azure certifications
• Experience within banking, financial services or regulated environments

Language Requirements

Fluent German is essential (minimum C1 level).

You will work closely with German-speaking stakeholders and technical teams, making strong communication skills in German a mandatory requirement.
