Job Title: Junior Field Engineer / Robot Operator (Airport Deployment)

Location: Frankfurt Airport, Germany

Contract Type: Fixed-Term Contract (3 Months) - Extendable

Working Hours: Full-time, 5 days per week (Standard Day Shifts)

Compensation: €1,500 per month (gross, pre-tax)

• Role Summary This is an on-site, entry-level position focused on the operation and first-line maintenance of a robotic platform designed for facility monitoring. The robot autonomously patrols designated areas to detect anomalies, including liquid spills, damaged furniture, and non-functional display screens. As the operator, you will serve as the eyes and ears on the ground, ensuring the robot functions correctly and that its findings are properly logged and escalated. No late-night or shift work is required.
• Key Responsibilities
• Robot Operation & Supervision: Execute daily start-up, calibration, and shutdown procedures. Monitor the robot’s patrol routes in real-time to ensure complete area coverage.
• Anomaly Verification: Review automated alerts generated by the robot. Physically inspect flagged areas to confirm or dismiss issues such as water spills, broken seating, or screen outages.
• First-Level Hardware Support: Perform basic troubleshooting, including clearing sensor obstructions, checking wheel assemblies, managing battery swaps, and ensuring charging dock connectivity.
• Incident Reporting: Log confirmed findings with clear descriptions and photographic evidence into the maintenance ticketing system. Escalate complex technical failures to the senior engineering team.
• Housekeeping & Safety: Maintain the robot’s physical cleanliness and ensure its operations do not obstruct passenger walkways or emergency routes.
• Required Qualifications & Education Candidates must fall into one of the following educational categories:
• University Degree: Bachelor’s in Computer Science Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
• Technical Diploma: A recognized diploma in Computer Science or Computer Applications.
• Experience Level: Fresh graduates are explicitly encouraged to apply. Small academic projects, internships, or hands-on hardware exposure will be viewed favorably.
• Technical Competencies
• Hardware Aptitude (Essential): Comfortable handling physical hardware components; basic tool usage and general mechanical sympathy are required.
• Computer Literacy (Essential): Confident in using Windows or Linux interfaces, filling out digital forms, and managing basic file transfers.
• Programming Knowledge (Desirable): Familiarity with any scripting or programming language (Python, C++, etc.) is a plus for understanding the robot’s logic, but development work is not required.
• Compensation & Tax Information
• Monthly Pay: €1,500 (Gross amount).
• Tax Responsibility: This is a contract role where you are responsible for managing your own tax declarations and social security contributions according to German law. The employer does not deduct payroll taxes; payment will be made based on the invoice you submit.
