Workday Finance Systems Specialist - #2626854

Introduction to the position

This is a hands-on systems support and optimisation role within a global finance technology environment, focused on a recently implemented enterprise financial platform used across multiple countries and business units. The position sits at the intersection of finance operations and systems administration, ensuring the stability, performance, and continuous improvement of the core finance system.

You will act as a key point of contact for users and stakeholders, combining 1st and 2nd line support with system configuration, enhancement delivery, and ongoing optimisation work. The role is highly collaborative, working closely with Finance, HR, and external vendors to ensure the platform operates effectively and continues to evolve in line with business needs. A strong understanding of finance processes combined with experience in ERP or cloud finance systems such as Workday Financials is essential.

Your Responsibilities

• Provide 1st and 2nd line support for the enterprise finance system across multiple countries and business units
• Manage and resolve system incidents, service requests, and user queries within agreed SLAs
• Act as liaison between internal stakeholders and external system vendors/support partners
• Configure and maintain system functionality including financial modules, business processes, security roles, and workflows
• Support reporting requirements, ensuring accurate, timely, and consistent financial data output
• Assist with system integrations and data flows between finance and other enterprise applications
• Participate in system releases, upgrades, and patch testing cycles, including regression testing and validation
• Support enhancement initiatives, process improvements, and system optimisation projects
• Maintain documentation of system processes, configurations, and support procedures
• Contribute to governance, controls, and global standardisation of system usage
• Deliver training and user support to improve adoption and system understanding across the organisation

Desired Qualifications

• Strong background in finance systems support, ERP administration, or finance operations
• Solid understanding of core finance processes (AP, AR, GL, reporting, close cycles)
• Hands-on experience with enterprise finance platforms such as Workday Financials or similar ERP systems
• Experience in system configuration, workflow design, or security role setup
• Familiarity with reporting tools and financial data structures
• Experience working with ticketing systems and structured IT support processes
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional stakeholders including Finance, HR, and IT
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Experience supporting system testing, release cycles, or implementation projects is highly desirable
• Fluent English required; additional European languages are a plus
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, international, and change-oriented environment
