A leading global financial services firm is seeking an experienced Senior Operational Risk Manager to join its 2nd Line Risk function. This is a senior-level opportunity focused on strengthening the Operational Risk framework and ensuring robust oversight of operational and ICT-related risks across the organisation.

The Role

Reporting into senior leadership within Risk, you will play a key role in managing and enhancing the Operational Risk framework, providing independent review and challenge across all operational risk categories, including technology-driven risks.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and enhancing the Operational Risk framework and governance processes
• Overseeing RCSA activities across business units, including risk and control assessments
• Managing operational loss events, incident reviews, root-cause analysis, and remediation tracking
• Ensuring ICT-related operational risks are appropriately integrated into the wider Operational Risk profile
• Conducting scenario analysis and supporting Pillar 1 and Pillar 2 capital calculations
• Preparing senior management reporting and presenting findings to governance committees
• Supporting regulatory compliance across MaRisk, CRR, KWG, Basel principles, and DORA-related operational impacts
• Promoting a strong risk culture and supporting awareness initiatives across the organisation

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will bring strong Operational Risk expertise gained within banking or financial services, alongside exposure to technology-driven operational risks.

Requirements include:

• Several years’ experience in Operational Risk Management within a regulated financial environment
• Strong understanding of operational processes and ICT-related risk impacts
• Experience with RCSA, scenario analysis, operational risk reporting, and capital assessments
• Sound knowledge of MaRisk, CRR, KWG, Basel Operational Risk principles, and DORA/BAIT
• Strong analytical, stakeholder management, and communication skills
• Fluent English and German language skills
