Key Responsibilities:

• Review and appraisal of tender documentation, specifications, drawings, and employer's requirements.
• Preparation of electrical material and subcontract enquiries, including selection and evaluation of prospective subcontractors and suppliers.
• Preparation of detailed electrical cost estimates, budgets, and cost plans.
• Measurement and quantity take-offs from drawings and BIM models.
• Technical and commercial evaluation of subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Attendance at tender review meetings, design workshops, and value engineering sessions.
• Identification of project risks and opportunities throughout the tender period.
• Development of value engineering proposals and alternative technical solutions.
• Preparation of tender clarifications, assumptions, and exclusions.
• Support the design development process to ensure designs are sufficiently developed for accurate pricing.
• Review of electrical infrastructure including MV/LV systems, standby generation, UPS systems, busbar systems, earthing and lightning protection, containment, ICT, security, and BMS interfaces.
• Attend site visits and surveys to identify project-specific risks and opportunities.
• Preparation and maintenance of tender risk registers.
• Presentation of tender submissions to senior management and participation in tender settlement meetings.
• Completion of tender documentation and submission of tender returns.
• Support smooth handover of successful tenders to the project delivery team.
• Mentor and support junior estimators as required.

Skills and Experience Required:

• Degree, in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Proven experience in an Electrical Estimating role within the construction industry.
• Strong understanding of electrical building services and infrastructure systems.
• Experience pricing MV/LV distribution systems, standby generation, UPS systems, containment, lighting, small power, fire alarm, security, and ICT systems.
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings, specifications, schematics, and technical documents.
• Strong understanding of procurement routes and subcontractor engagement.
• Excellent analytical and commercial skills.
• Ability to prepare detailed cost plans and tender submissions.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills. (German is a plus)
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Experience with estimating software and take-off platforms (Countfire, CostX, Bluebeam, etc.) would be advantageous.
• Previous experience in Data Centre, Mission Critical, Industrial, Pharmaceutical, or Infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a pre-construction team environment
