Morson Talent
Mechanical Project Manager
Frankfurt, Germany
Data Centre | Cooling / Air Conditioning Package
November mobilisation
Morson is supporting a growing specialist data centre delivery business with the appointment of a Mechanical Project Manager for a major data centre project in Frankfurt.
This is a founder-led business building its core delivery team around mission-critical mechanical infrastructure across Europe. It is not a large corporate structure, and the opportunity is suited to someone who wants more ownership, quicker decision-making and direct access to leadership.
The immediate project is a significant air conditioning / cooling package, expected to sit around €5m-€10m.
Due to the project location and mobilisation requirements, candidates must hold an EU passport or already have unrestricted right to work in Germany / the EU. Visa sponsorship is not available.
THE ROLE
You will take ownership of the mechanical cooling package on site, working closely with the client, subcontractors, internal leadership and the wider project team.
The role will involve:
• Managing mechanical package delivery from mobilisation through installation and close-out
• Coordinating subcontractors, labour, suppliers and specialist vendors
• Driving programme, sequencing, short-term planning and progress reporting
• Managing RFIs, technical queries, submittals and design coordination issues
• Working with commercial teams around change, cost, margin and package performance
• Maintaining strong client relationships on site
• Supporting quality, safety, commissioning readiness and close-out
• Identifying project risks early and ensuring issues are dealt with before they affect delivery
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
We are looking for someone currently working as a:
• Mechanical Project Manager
• Senior Mechanical Project Manager
• MEP Project Manager
• Mechanical Package Manager
You will need:
• Strong mechanical bias
• Data centre project experience
• Experience delivering cooling, HVAC, chilled water, CRAH, CRAC, air conditioning or similar mechanical infrastructure packages
• Strong subcontractor management experience
• Good understanding of programme, sequencing and site coordination
• Commercial awareness around change, cost, margin and package performance
• Confidence dealing with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal leadership
• EU passport or unrestricted right to work in Germany / the EU
Experience with major data centre contractors, MEP contractors or specialist HVAC / cooling businesses would be highly relevant.
WHY THIS ROLE IS WORTH A CONVERSATION
This is not just another Mechanical PM role on a data centre project.
The business is at an early stage of its growth, which means the person joining will have genuine influence over how packages are delivered, how standards are set, and how the team develops.
For someone coming from a larger contractor, the attraction is clear:
• More ownership of the package
• Direct access to decision makers
• Less corporate drag
• Real influence over delivery standards and process
• Long-term growth as the business scales across European data centre projects
This will suit someone who knows how to deliver mechanical packages properly and wants to be closer to the decisions that shape the work.
APPLY
You do not need to be actively looking to have a confidential conversation.
Apply through Morson or contact Ryan Dickenson directly to understand the project, the business and the longer-term plan.
