Your area of work:


The Head of HGB Banking Reporting holds full accountability for ensuring compliance with German GAAP (HGB), including the preparation of statutory financial statements and disclosures for both banking and non-banking entities. In addition, the role as Head of Finance CEU is responsible for the overall financial management of Clearstream Europe AG (CEU). This encompasses financial accounting, controlling, planning, and forecasting, as well as internal budget, cost and revenue management and internal financial reporting. The role serves as the primary point of contact for all finance-related matters towards the Executive Board and represents CEU`s financial interests towards internal stakeholders as well as regulators and external stakeholders, including BaFin, Deutsche Bundesbank and external auditors.





Your profile:



  • Lead and develop a high-performing finance team covering accounting and German GAAP/HGB reporting

  • Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in accordance with German GAAP (HGB), including RechKredV

  • Oversee monthly and quarterly closing processes and manage reconcilations between IFRS and HGB/RechKredV reporting frameworks

  • Oversee HGB-based regulatory reporting in line with German banking requirements (e.g., HGB, RechKredV, KWG)

  • Ensure accurate and timely submission of financial information to regulatory bodies (e.g., BaFin, Deutsche Bundesbank)

  • Function as the primary contact for auditors on HGB-related matters and audits

  • Ensure audit readiness and coordination closely with the Supervisory Board’s Audit Committee

  • Establish and ensure compliance with financial and accounting policies, procedures and internal controls

  • Support and steer planning, forecasting, and reporting processes for Post-Trade Services

  • Prepare and present budgets, financial analyses, management reports and regular updates to relevant committees and legal entity boards, including monthly performance insights to support decision-making

  • Drive continuous enhancement and optimization of SAP-based financial reporting

  • Ensure close alignment with key internal stakeholders (e.g., Revenue Management, Clearstream Risk Management, Group Tax) on CEU related topics





Your responsibilities:



  • University degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field

  • Extensive experience in financial accounting, controlling, and reporting within the financial services or banking sector

  • Strong expertise in German GAAP (HGB) and solid knowledge of IFRS

  • Previous leadership experience in managing accounting and/or controlling teams

  • Excellent analytical and technical skills, including SAP CO, SAP BW and MS Office

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels, including the Executive Board
