As our Technical Assistant, you will play a key role in maintaining HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire protection systems, ensuring guest comfort and safety while supporting the Chief Engineer in driving departmental performance and operational excellence.
Working closely with the Chief Engineer and across hotel departments, you will help ensure the property remains safe, well-maintained, and guest-ready at all times.

As our Technical Assistant, you will play a key role in maintaining HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire protection systems, ensuring guest comfort and safety while supporting the Chief Engineer in driving departmental performance and operational excellence.
Working closely with the Chief Engineer and across hotel departments, you will help ensure the property remains safe, well-maintained, and guest-ready at all times.
What You'll Be Doing
Maintain & Repair Hotel Systems
- Carry out maintenance and repairs on HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, painting, lighting, and other hotel equipment and fire protection systems.
- Ensure room maintenance requests are handled promptly and courteously.
- Follow up on all alarms immediately to determine location and cause, assess emergency status, and report findings to Front Desk, taking immediate action as necessary.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure optimal functioning and longevity of equipment and facilities.
- Support maintenance planning and scheduling, prioritizing work assignments, projects, and repairs based on operational needs and guest requirements.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of hotel facilities to identify and address safety hazards and maintenance issues promptly.
- Support the Chief Engineer in managing the maintenance team, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high performance and adherence to safety protocols.
- Deputize for the Chief Engineer as required.
- Ensure the departmental budget related to maintenance and repair activities is followed.
- Review and follow up on guest feedback scores, ensuring effective action planning to improve maintenance-related performance.
- Support the Chief Engineer with ideas for effective energy conservation initiatives and sustainable practices to reduce utility costs and minimize the hotel's environmental footprint.
- Support the Chief Engineer in capital improvement projects, renovations, and upgrades to hotel facilities and infrastructure.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations, as well as building standards.
- Support emergency response procedures and protocols, including disaster preparedness and recovery plans.
- Respond promptly to emergency situations, such as equipment failures, power outages, or natural disasters, to minimize disruption and ensure guest and employee safety.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, repairs, and equipment documentation.
- Prepare regular reports for management on departmental performance, project status, and budget variance analysis.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in maintenance, engineering, or a technical trade
- Hospitality/hotel experience is an advantage but not essential
- Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and strong organizational ability
- Comfortable using computer systems and maintenance management technology
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Flexible approach to shifts, including weekends, holidays, and emergency call-outs
- Fluency in English and German
- Eligibility to work fulltime in Germany
