As a Risk Manager, you will help clients successfully deliver complex capital projects and programmes by establishing and embedding effective risk management practices throughout the project lifecycle. You will work closely with project teams and stakeholders to identify, assess, quantify, and manage project risks, enabling informed decision-making and improving project outcomes.

You will support the delivery of projects across highly regulated and technically complex industries, applying industry best practices and contributing to the continuous improvement of enterprise and project risk management capabilities.

As a Risk Manager, you will:

  • Design, implement, and continuously improve project and programme risk management frameworks aligned with client requirements and industry best practices.
  • Facilitate qualitative and quantitative risk workshops with multidisciplinary teams and subject matter experts.
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously enhance project risk registers, risk dashboards, and other risk management documentation.
  • Review and challenge risk information to ensure data quality, consistency, and transparency for effective decision-making.
  • Drive the implementation and monitoring of risk mitigation actions, ensuring accountability across project teams.
  • Support project teams in defining measurable and effective mitigation strategies and management responses.
  • Perform Quantitative Risk Assessments (QRA) for cost and schedule using recognised risk analysis methodologies and software tools.
  • Analyse project risk exposure and provide recommendations to support project planning, forecasting, and contingency management.
  • Prepare high-quality risk reports, dashboards, and executive presentations using Microsoft Office and business intelligence tools such as Power BI.
  • Collaborate closely with Project Controls disciplines—including Planning, Cost Management, and Project Management—to ensure alignment of project data and reporting.
  • Engage with clients, contractors, and supply chain partners to identify, assess, and manage project risks throughout the delivery lifecycle.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of risk management methodologies, tools, and governance processes across projects and programmes.

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Risk Management, Business, Economics, or a related discipline.

Professional experience in Project Risk Management across one or more industries such as Infrastructure, Energy, Utilities, Nuclear, Industrial, Transportation, or Construction.

Experience supporting projects throughout the full project lifecycle, from project development and design through execution and close-out.

Strong understanding of qualitative and quantitative risk management methodologies, including risk identification, assessment, mitigation planning, monitoring, and reporting.

Practical experience performing Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA) for cost and schedule.

Proficiency with recognised risk management software such as Safran Risk, @RISK, PRA, or equivalent tools.

Experience using reporting and data visualisation tools including Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.

Familiarity with project risk management standards and frameworks such as ISO 31000, APM Risk Management, Management of Risk (MoR), or comparable international methodologies.

Experience working within multidisciplinary Project Controls teams and collaborating with diverse stakeholders.

Strong analytical thinking, critical reasoning, and the ability to evaluate complex risk scenarios and their business implications.

Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to explain complex risk topics to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Membership of a recognised professional body such as the Institute of Risk Management (IRM), Association for Project Management (APM), or an equivalent organisation is advantageous.

Professional certifications such as APM Risk Certificate, Management of Risk (MoR), or comparable qualifications are desirable.

Experience in the Nuclear or other highly regulated industries is considered an advantage but is not essential.

Fluent English is required. German language skills (minimum B2) are desirable and may be required depending on the project.

Eligibility to obtain any project-specific security clearance required for client engagements.
