The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Permit Coordinator to join our data centre project in Frankfurt. This is a key site-based role responsible for coordinating the Permit to Work system and ensuring construction activities are properly planned, authorised and carried out in a safe and controlled manner.

Working closely with the construction, engineering and HSE teams, you will play an important role in maintaining safe systems of work across a busy, live construction environment.

Here are some of the key duties of this role:

• Coordinate and administer the Permit to Work (PTW) system across the project
• Review permit applications and ensure all required documentation and controls are in place before works commence
• Coordinate permits for electrical, mechanical and construction activities
• Liaise with Site Managers, Engineers, Supervisors, HSE teams and subcontractors to ensure permits are correctly planned and issued
• Ensure works are carried out in accordance with approved RAMS, risk assessments and method statements
• Coordinate isolations, access requirements and other control measures associated with permitted works
• Maintain an accurate permit register and monitor all active permits on site
• Ensure permits are correctly issued, displayed, suspended, extended and closed out
• Monitor ongoing works to ensure compliance with permit conditions and escalate any issues immediately
• Attend daily coordination meetings and support the planning of upcoming works
• Identify potential clashes between planned activities and other works taking place on site
• Support site inspections, audits and HSE initiatives relating to permit compliance
• Maintain accurate records and provide permit status updates to the project team
• Assist with the coordination of high-risk and safety-critical activities
• Promote a strong safety culture across the project and ensure company and client procedures are followed
  
  

Key Qualifications Required:

• Previous experience as a Permit Coordinator, Permit Controller, Permit Administrator or similar role
• Proven experience within data centres, construction, engineering, pharmaceutical or other high-risk environments
• Strong understanding of Permit to Work and Safe Systems of Work
• Experience reviewing and working with RAMS, risk assessments and method statements
• Good understanding of construction site health and safety requirements
• Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple permits and activities within a fast-paced construction environment
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to coordinate effectively with multiple contractors and project teams
• Confident working independently and making decisions within established procedures
• Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office
• Relevant construction, engineering or health & safety qualification would be advantageous
• Previous experience working on large-scale data centre projects is highly desirable
