About The Role
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director, Treasury Markets AG to lead Treasury Markets activities within SCB AG in Frankfurt. This role is responsible for the effective management of liquidity, investment portfolios, balance sheet optimization, and interest rate risk in the banking book while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and the Bank's risk appetite framework.
As a senior leader, you will play a critical role in driving Treasury performance, maximizing returns on tangible equity (RoTE), managing financial resources efficiently, and partnering closely with stakeholders across Treasury, Risk, Finance, Compliance, and Business functions.

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director, Treasury Markets AG to lead Treasury Markets activities within SCB AG in Frankfurt. Key Responsibilities
Treasury Markets Strategy
- Lead front-line Treasury Markets activities, ensuring effective liquidity and capital management.
- Manage investment portfolios and banking book interest rate risk.
- Drive efficient balance sheet utilization and optimize returns within approved risk appetite.
- Leverage market insights to provide strategic solutions and support business objectives.
- Foster collaboration across regions and functions to deliver Group-wide objectives.
- Proactively manage portfolio risks, including counterparty, credit, country, and market risks.
- Optimize portfolio allocation considering pricing, liquidity, capital, and return objectives.
- Manage High Quality Liquid Assets (HQLA) and short-term interbank exposures.
- Execute investment strategies that balance liquidity needs, regulatory requirements, and profitability.
- Identify and capture market opportunities through currency, interest rate, and swap arbitrage strategies.
- Utilize hedging solutions, including interest rate derivatives, to manage risk exposure.
- Provide market insights and strategic recommendations to senior stakeholders.
- Support the management of Interest Rate Risk in the Banking Book (IRRBB) and Net Interest Income (NII) outcomes.
- Develop and execute liquidity management strategies for SCB AG.
- Maintain a resilient liquidity position capable of withstanding market and idiosyncratic stress events.
- Manage funding capacity through balance sheet optimization and liability generation.
- Oversee regulatory liquidity ratios, including LCR and local regulatory requirements.
- Deliver sustainable balance sheet value creation while meeting Treasury performance objectives.
Risk Management & Governance
- Ensure balance sheet and liquidity exposures remain within approved risk limits.
- Promote a strong risk culture and effective governance framework.
- Identify, escalate, and mitigate material risk concentrations and emerging issues.
- Ensure compliance with Group policies, procedures, and regulatory obligations.
- Maintain effective controls supporting Treasury Markets activities.
- Lead, develop, and inspire a high-performing Treasury Markets team.
- Create a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Drive succession planning and talent development initiatives.
- Set clear objectives and performance expectations for direct reports.
- Promote knowledge sharing and best practices across the Treasury function.
- Ensure adherence to BaFin regulations and all applicable local and international regulatory requirements.
- Champion the highest standards of ethics, integrity, and professional conduct.
- Embed the Group's Values and Code of Conduct throughout Treasury Markets activities.
- Proactively manage conduct, compliance, and operational risks.
Skills & Experience
- Strong experience in Treasury Markets, Liquidity Management, or Balance Sheet Management.
- Deep understanding of financial markets, fixed income products, and investment portfolio management.
- Expertise in liquidity risk, capital management, IRRBB, and regulatory frameworks.
- Proven experience managing investment portfolios within a banking environment.
- Strong understanding of governance, risk, and control frameworks.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to develop and manage high-performing teams.
- Experience working within an international banking environment.
- Strong knowledge of European banking regulations and supervisory expectations.
- Understanding of investment credit risk and treasury-related financial resource frameworks.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Mathematics, or a related discipline required.
- Advanced degree (Master's, MBA, CFA, FRM, or equivalent) preferred.
- Relevant regulatory licenses and certifications as required by local and global regulations.
- Business-level English required.German language skills are advantageous.
