Manager, Value and Access – Germany

Summary Description:
The Value and Access Manager is responsible to coordinate all delegated market access related projects and execute activities to support market access in the countries of the area. There will be extensive collaboration with the PAVE team, and the commercial and medical colleagues in the area.
The Value and Access Manager supports the delivery of market access, pricing and reimbursement activities in Germany. The role combines delegated market access project execution with operational ownership of contracts, SAP and Veeva workflows, budgets, pricing requests and rebate processes
Scope:
This position supports Market Access activities across the German affiliate and both business units. It manages operational workflows affecting project delivery, budget control, vendor execution, pricing governance and rebate administration. Strategic, financial, compliance and contractual decisions are escalated to the appropriate business owner.
Responsibilities:
The role is designed for a candidate with experience in Market Access or Commercial operations who can contribute immediately through established BioMarin processes and systems, while progressively expanding Market Access expertise and responsibility.

It manages operational workflows affecting project delivery, budget control, vendor execution, pricing governance and rebate administration. Strategic, financial, compliance and contractual decisions are escalated to the appropriate business owner.
Responsibilities:
- Support delegated local market access activities and coordinate timelines, deliverables and follow-up across products and pipeline assets.
- Contribute to access plans, reimbursement analyses, payer materials, pricing submissions and launch or lifecycle activities.
- Manage the operational contract and vendor lifecycle, including initiation, routing, tracking, amendments, renewals, purchase orders, deliverables and closure.
- Coordinate Market Access workflows in SAP, including vendor and contract processes, purchase orders, goods receipt and invoice follow-up.
- Coordinate Veeva review and approval workflows for documents, payer meetings, advisory boards, events and materials.
- Support annual and long-range budget planning; maintain budget trackers and monitor forecasts, invoices, accruals, commitments and variances.
- Manage local pricing requests, price reviews and price change documentation in collaboration with local and global Pricing colleagues.
- Coordinate the review, validation, documentation and payment workflow for rebate claims and related invoices; maintain audit-ready records and escalate discrepancies.
- Coordinate external vendors and collaborate with PAVE, Commercial, Medical, Finance, Legal, Procurement, Compliance, Supply Chain and global teams.
- Monitor relevant market access developments, prepare status updates and contribute to continuous improvement of team processes and governance.
- University degree in natural science, medicine, pharmacy, health science or a related discipline, or a comparable vocational qualification with relevant pharmaceutical industry experience.
- Additional training in Market Access, health economics, business administration, project management or finance is an advantage.
- Fluent German and strong business English, written and spoken.
The role is designed for a candidate with experience in Market Access or Commercial operations who can contribute immediately through established BioMarin processes and systems, while progressively expanding Market Access expertise and responsibility.
- Relevant professional experience in Market Access or Commercial within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare or a related industry
- Practical experience in contract or vendor management, budget tracking, purchase orders, invoicing or comparable commercial operations.
- Hands-on SAP experience; Veeva and pricing or master-data workflow experience is preferred.
- Experience coordinating cross-functional projects within regulated processes and approval frameworks.
- Experience with pricing requests, rebate processing, accruals or reimbursement operations is an advantage.
- Knowledge of the German pharmaceutical and reimbursement environment is preferred; rare-disease experience is an advantage.
- Well-structured work style, numerical confidence and attention to detail, with strong stakeholder communication and reliable follow-through.
- Proactive, collaborative and service-oriented working style, combined with sound judgement, integrity and the ability to work independently.
- Flexible work arrangement with regular office presence in line with company policy or other arrangements.
- Availability for occasional business travel.
- Internal: German PAVE team; Commercial; Medical Affairs; Finance; Legal; Procurement; Compliance; Supply Chain; Business Operations; global and regional Value & Access and Pricing teams.
- External: Market Access vendors, consultants and service providers; key opinion leaders, politicians, authorities and payers where delegated and appropriate.
