About the role

Based at Kerry’s Frankfurt Customer Co-Creation Centre in Neu-Isenburg, you will join the Meat Development & Application team, supporting the development of new products and the improvement of existing ones. Our team works with meat industry customers across Germany, Austria and Switzerland (DACH), Benelux, the Nordics and Eastern Europe. In this junior role, you will contribute to hands-on trials, prototypes and customer projects, working alongside experienced colleagues while building your knowledge of meat applications and ingredient functionality.

Key responsibilities

• Support and carry out application activities for priority projects within the Mainland Europe Meat RD&A team, taking increasing ownership of assigned tasks as your experience grows
• Develop and prepare high-quality prototypes and customer samples, with guidance from experienced colleagues, across applications such as sausages, deli meats, coated products, and meat alternatives.
• Work with experienced colleagues to translate customer requirements into practical product solutions, learning how ingredient functionality contributes to the required texture, flavour, stability, quality, and processing performance.
• Contribute to planning and carrying out trials, document results, evaluate prototypes, and discuss findings and potential recommendations with the project team.
• Support customer troubleshooting by assisting with investigations, exploring possible root causes, and testing potential application solutions alongside subject matter experts.
• Work with Sales and Marketing to help prepare presentations and demonstrations and support the commercial roll-out of new technologies.
• Build knowledge of ingredients, technologies, and market developments, learning how to connect their benefits to customer needs.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, laboratory practice, documentation, and equipment care in all application activities.
  
  

Qualifications and skills

• Completed vocational training as a Fachkraft für Lebensmitteltechnik or a comparable food-related qualification; alternatively, a qualification as a Food Technician or Industriemeister Lebensmittel / Lebensmitteltechnik, or a degree in Food Technology / Food Science.
• Practical exposure to food production, raw-material handling, processing equipment and quality checks, gained through vocational training, placements or employment. Experience in meat processing is desirable but not essential.
• Curiosity and a strong willingness to learn from subject matter experts and colleagues in a multicultural, multinational environment, remaining open to different perspectives and feedback.
• Good organisational skills, with the ability to manage assigned tasks, priorities and timelines, gradually building the skills and confidence to lead projects with increasing independence.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across RD&A, Sales, Business Development, Marketing, Supply Chain, Operations and Regulatory teams.
• Confident use of standard digital tools and a willingness to learn new systems for documentation, data management and project coordination.
• A self-motivated, organised and hands-on approach, with the ability to work both independently and within cross-functional teams, asking for guidance when needed.
• Fluent German and intermediate English (minimum B1 level).
