The Team

A&M’s CFO Services team, part of the Private Equity Performance Improvement (PEPI) practice in Germany, is looking to hire a talented Director (m/f/d) with a strong background in Controlling, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) and performance management, combined with hands-on consulting experience.

The team advises Private Equity investors, portfolio companies and corporates on financial performance improvement, reporting excellence, finance transformation and value creation topics. We work directly alongside management teams to improve transparency, strengthen decision-making and drive measurable business results.

  • Support clients in budget, forecasting and long-range planning processes, improving both accuracy and business relevance
  • Drive the development of management reporting processes, performance management frameworks and value creation tracking mechanisms
  • Contribute to broader CFO Services engagements, including working capital optimisation, liquidity management, cash forecasting and finance transformation initiatives
  • Lead project teams, manage multiple workstreams and act as a key day-to-day contact for senior client stakeholders
  • Develop and mentor junior team members while fostering a collaborative and entrepreneurial team environment
  • Support business development activities, including proposal preparation, client relationship building and thought leadership initiatives

Qualifications

  • Relevant experience gained in management consulting, performance improvement, finance transformation, CFO advisory or a related professional services environment
  • Strong expertise in Controlling, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), management reporting and performance management
  • Additional industry experience in Controlling, FP&A or finance leadership roles is highly valued
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, including P&L, balance sheet and cash flow mechanics
  • Strong analytical and modelling capabilities, with the ability to structure complex financial information and translate it into clear recommendations
  • Proven ability to lead project teams, manage client stakeholders and deliver results in demanding environments
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a hands-on approach and strong sense of ownership
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in German and English
  • Objective, fact-based approach to problem-solving
  • Strong values and integrity, leading by example and inspiring confidence in colleagues and clients
  • Master's degree or equivalent academic qualification

Your journey at A&M

At A&M, professional growth is tied directly to performance, not tenure. Our people take on meaningful, hands-on work supported by a performance development process that rewards contribution and fosters a culture of meritocracy. Stretch roles, evolving business needs, and firm growth create ongoing opportunities for ownership and building new skills, while direct access to senior leaders provides mentorship and real-time coaching along the way. We also prioritize your wellbeing through comprehensive benefits and resources. Together, these elements create an environment where high-performing professionals can continue to grow and advance from day one.
