Job Overview

We are looking for an exceptional, forward-looking leader to head our Equity Rebalance group - a pivotal function at the heart of Index Management. You will lead an international team of 20 professionals across our Frankfurt, Hong Kong, and Toronto offices, reporting directly to the Head of Index Management. The team operates approximately 5000 complex equity selection models while maintaining deep client relationships with a global base of institutional clients. This role gives you an opportunity to define the next generation of operations: building a high-performing global team, strengthening resilience and ownership, and moving a critical production environment into future-proof standardized, technology-enabled, and scalable platforms. Your Tasks

Team Leadership & People Management

• Lead and develop a global team, fostering accountability, collaboration, client focus, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure clear responsibilities, effective coverage, and strong collaboration across regions and time zones.
  
  

Strategy & Transformation

• Define and execute the long-term vision and operating model for the Equity Rebalance team.
• Drive the shift to standardized, scalable, and technology-enabled selection workflows.
• Balance transformation initiatives with operational excellence, risk management, and client-service expectations.
  
  

Operational Excellence & Governance

• Identify and deliver automation, data, and process improvements in partnership with key stakeholders.
• Maintain robust controls, governance, documentation, and escalation procedures across the selection-model lifecycle.
• Ensure operational resilience through effective risk oversight and continuous process improvement.
  
  

Client & Escalation Management

• Act as the senior escalation point for complex client issues, rebalancing discussions, and operational incidents.
• Ensure clear communication, root-cause analysis, and sustainable remediation of issues.
  
  

Your Profile

Leadership & People Management

• 15+ years of experience in investment management, asset management, indexing, capital markets, or financial services operations.
• Proven leadership experience, ideally managing international or globally distributed teams.
• Strong track record in people development, performance management, conflict resolution, and decision-making under pressure.
  
  

Industry & Business Expertise

• Deep knowledge of equity markets, investment strategies, index methodologies, rebalancing, ETFs, and index-linked products.
• Strong understanding of operational risk, controls, governance, incident management, and continuous-improvement practices.
  
  

Strategic & Operational Capabilities

• Proven ability to operate effectively in complex, fast-changing environments while establishing structure, priorities, and scalable processes.
• Strategic, entrepreneurial, and hands-on mindset, with the ability to align operational decisions with long-term business objectives.
• Experience leading operational transformation, process standardization, automation, technology initiatives, and workflow scalability.
