As the Director of Multi‑Site Operations, this role oversees operational performance across various locations while ensuring alignment with global operational standards. It focuses on driving consistency, strengthening cross‑site coordination, and enabling smooth, efficient operations. The position leads strategic initiatives, accelerates process optimization, and integrates best‑practice frameworks that enhance reliability, scalability, and overall operational excellence. By cultivating a culture dedicated to high performance, this role supports organizational alignment, operational efficiency, and innovation across all sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build a unified and motivated workforce by fostering open communication, reinforcing team accountability, and creating an environment where individuals across different locations stay engaged and aligned with organizational goals.
- Oversee day‑to‑day operations across various facilities, ensuring that teams operate cohesively, understand business priorities, and consistently deliver on established performance commitments.
- Encourage innovation and continuous progress by identifying areas where processes can evolve, strengthening operational reliability, elevating outcomes, and supporting a strong culture.
- Lead initiatives that anticipate operational needs, proactively addressing challenges, introducing effective solutions, and enhancing overall site performance through structured actions.
- Provide operational leadership in strategic planning, guiding decisions related to resource distribution, organizational structures, and facility readiness to support shifting business requirements.
- Refine end‑to‑end operational flows by improving coordination between production activities, internal movement of materials, and support functions to ensure responsiveness and organizational agility.
- Advance operational maturity by embedding methods, systems, and behaviors that reinforce high standards, promote sustainable performance, and increase the organization’s strength.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strategic & Hands-On Leadership: Demonstrates the ability to operate seamlessly between strategic direction and on-the-ground execution, ensuring clarity, accountability, and strong alignment across teams and sites.
- Multi-Site & International Operations Expertise: Proven experience managing complex multi-site operations across international environments, ensuring consistency, performance alignment, and operational excellence across geographically dispersed locations.
- Global Footprint & Network Optimization: Strong track record in designing, managing, and optimizing industrial footprints, including site roles, capacity allocation, and long-term operational positioning across regions.
- Operational Transformation & Process Excellence: Drives large-scale process improvements and transformation initiatives, standardizing operations, enhancing efficiency, and strengthening organizational capabilities across multiple sites.
- Cross-Site Governance & Alignment: Skilled in establishing robust governance models and coordination mechanisms to ensure alignment across functions, regions, and leadership layers within matrix organizations.
- Proactive, Results-Driven Mindset: Anticipates operational challenges, acts decisively, and consistently delivers measurable improvements in performance, efficiency, and reliability within fast-paced industrial environments.
- Make vs. Buy & Sourcing Strategy Expertise: Experienced in evaluating internal vs. external production strategies, optimizing sourcing decisions, and aligning them with cost, quality, and scalability objectives. People Leadership in Complex Environments: Builds and leads high-performing, internationally distributed teams, fostering engagement, accountability, and continuous development across diverse cultural contexts.
- Languages & Mobility: Fluent in German and English, with full flexibility for frequent international travel and strong on-site presence across the sites
