Compliance Officer - Marketing and Distribution (m/f/d) - #2632397

We are partnering with a leading global investment manager to appoint a senior Compliance professional to lead Marketing & Distribution Compliance across the EMEA region.

This is a highly visible, front-facing role, acting as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders across marketing and sales. You will sit at the intersection of commercial strategy and regulatory oversight, translating complex regulatory requirements into practical, business-aligned solutions.

The position focuses on cross-border fund distribution, sales practices advisory, and marketing material oversight across UCITS and alternative products. With direct interaction with senior sales leadership and regulators (including BaFin), this role requires confidence, credibility, and the ability to influence at the highest levels.

• Lead the EMEA Marketing & Distribution Compliance function, setting strategic priorities and driving execution
• Act as a trusted advisor to senior marketing and sales stakeholders, providing clear and commercially pragmatic compliance guidance
• Provide day-to-day advisory on cross-border fund distribution rules (UCITS and AIFs) across EMEA
• Oversee and approve marketing materials, including German-language content, ensuring compliance with local regulatory requirements
• Engage directly with regulators (including BaFin) and support the German Compliance Officer on local regulatory matters
• Partner with global compliance teams (US and APAC) to ensure a consistent approach to marketing and distribution oversight
• Monitor and interpret regulatory developments relating to financial promotions and fund distribution, translating these into actionable guidance for the business
• Enhance and streamline marketing review processes, leveraging technology and scalable solutions
• Develop and deliver targeted compliance training for sales and marketing teams
• Represent the firm in industry forums and external engagements relating to fund marketing and distribution
  
  

• ~10+ years' experience in compliance within asset management or financial services (strong preference for VP-level candidates)
• Deep expertise in fund distribution and marketing compliance across EMEA, including UCITS and AIF frameworks
• Proven ability to operate in a front-facing, business-aligned role, confidently engaging with senior sales leadership
• Strong understanding of German regulatory requirements; experience interacting with BaFin is highly desirable
• Fluent in both English and German (essential)
• Demonstrated ability to translate complex regulations into clear, practical guidance for commercial teams
• Strong influencing skills, with the ability to challenge and advise stakeholders effectively
• A commercial mindset, balancing regulatory risk with business growth objectives
• Experience leading or influencing teams; direct management experience is beneficial but not essential
• Confident, proactive, and comfortable operating in a high-impact, high-visibility environment
