The Role

As Head of FINEX, Financial, Executive & Professional Risks for Germany, you will be responsible for leading the FINEX team in Germany. In addition to your leadership responsibilities, you will personally manage new business enquiries and oversee an existing portfolio of Financial Lines insurance programmes.

The Key Responsibilities Include

Leadership and business management

• Lead and manage the FINEX team in Germany.
• Work closely with the FINEX Global Line of Business (GLoB).
• Assume responsibility for the FINEX profit and loss account (P&L).
  
  

Placement and client delivery

• Gather the information required to assess client needs and exposures.
• Assess risks and determine appropriate coverage.
• Prepare submission files for the insurance market.
• Select suitable insurers.
• Present risk profiles and lead negotiations with insurers.
• Keep clients informed of progress and of the development and placement of their insurance arrangements.
• Maintain client files and prepare for client meetings.
• Complete the required booking and administrative processes.
  
  

Portfolio growth and market development

• Manage and grow the existing portfolio.
• Support the commercial delivery of Financial Lines campaigns, whether locally led or coordinated by the wider WTW group.
• Brief the sales team on new developments within Financial Lines.
• Support the commercial team in preparing responses to requests for proposal (RFPs) and present and defend Financial Lines proposals to prospective and existing clients.

The Requirements

To Succeed In This Role, You Will Bring

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
• Availability to work full time.
• A client-focused, flexible and proactive approach.
• Strong and effective negotiation skills.
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills in German and English.
• The ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively across the WTW network.
• A curious, commercially minded, proactive and driven mindset.
• Strong knowledge of, or a clear interest in, Directors & Officers Liability (D&O), Professional Indemnity (PI), Cyber and Crime/Fidelity insurance, as well as Employment Practices Liability (EPL) and Pension Trustee Liability (PTL).
• A high level of accuracy and resilience, together with the ability to work independently, analyse complex information, structure priorities and deliver results in a sales-oriented environment.
• The ambition and confidence to support large national and international organisations.
• Relevant professional experience in the insurance or financial services sector.
• Any professional insurance qualifications required for the role in Germany, or a willingness to obtain them.
