About the Role:

We’re looking for a driven Finance Manager to join our Finance team. In this role, you’ll will be the lead Finance business partner to the German business unit. Germany is a key region for H&MV within Europe, and the Finance Manager Germany is a newly created role to support our ongoing growth.

The role involves close cross functional collaboration (including sub-disciplines of the wider finance team) to ensure alignment and accuracy on the financial outlook for the business unit. Key Responsibilities:

• Trusted Business Partner to the German Business Unit.
• Ownership of review/sign-off of monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and identification of trends, issues, and mitigation plans.
• Ownership of rolling monthly full-year outlook by project.
• Responsible for the preparation and presentation of budgeting and forecasting corporate packs.
• Ensure appropriate financial controls are implemented.
• Ensure compliance with H&MV policies and procedures.
• Proactively ensure compliance with local tax and other company obligations by leveraging group functions for support.
• Bring appropriate challenge to management meetings/business performance reviews to maximise performance and protect the overall business.
• Build strong relationships with the wider European leadership team.
• Active participant in department productivity, ensuring processes are streamlined and improving speed and accuracy with KPIs, etc.
• Provide support to relevant departments/stakeholders to monitor performance.
• Act as a point of escalation for Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable queries within the German Business Unit, focusing on resolution.
• Ad hoc projects and analysis as required.

Key Requirements:

• Proven experience in a Finance Manager, Financial Controller or similar role, ideally within a construction or engineering environment.
• Strong experience in management accounting, budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting.
• Strong commercial and analytical skills, with the ability to challenge and support business performance.
• Experience with project-based financial management, cost control and financial forecasting.
• Strong understanding of financial controls, compliance and local tax requirements.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Strong organisational skills with a proactive approach to process improvement.
• Experience working within an international or multinational business environment is desirable.
• Strong Excel and financial systems experience; SAP experience is advantageous.
• Relevant Finance/Accounting degree; professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) desirable.
• Fluent English; German language skills advantageous.
